Diane Mae Robinson is the recipient of six international writing awards and one prestigous provincial award for her fantasy adventure children’s chapter book series, The Pen Pieyu Adventures. The author has created a world full of delightful, zany characters, while embracing the traditional values of kindness, understanding, and acceptance of others to create a story with the humorous essence of Shrek.

Children will embrace Petra Longstride’s values through her actions and problem-solving skills when (in book one) she faces a nasty dragon, a bully, and a dueling prince who wants to take over her kingdom; when (in book two) she faces the challenges of attaining a talent certificate at Talent School and exploring unexplored lands; and when (in book three) she decides to forfeit an important personal mission to help out friends.

"What a wonderful story. You don't get many books that can teach qualities such as respect, friendship and trust.
The author has a great gift at story telling, without telling you how or what you should do to learn the skills that the story teaches.  This book is next to my copy of Aesop's Fables."

"Although it is a fairy tale, there is substance to the story. At its heart is an unconventional heroine who constantly has to face up to the rules that everyone else accepts blindly. Petra does things her way and with panache. This is a bright and breezy book, buoyed up by its humor and general pleasantness."

This is a story of achievement and belief in yourself. Just because Petra is a girl this does not stop her from doing what is seen as a boy’s job. This is a powerful message to children and encourages them to follow what they believe in.There are many words in the story that stimulate discussion for younger readers, which helps them to develop their vocabulary."

Barbara Ann Majica Bamauthor.me

She and the other quirky characters in this book possess a delightful sense of humor. Looking forward to reading more of The Pen Pieyu Adventures from this talented new author."
